designing for usabilty and accessibility
My design philosophy is that a website should be designed to be simple, user friendly, accessible, clear and easily navigable with a fast loading time. To add to this, the design process should also be cost-effective and designed around your budget.
Design Process: I will have initial discussions with you to understand what your business is about and will then tell you honestly as to whether you will benefit from web presence.
Should we decide to go ahead we will clarify the goals to be achieved from the proposed site. Existing marketing and promotional material will be referenced to create a basis for the design.
If you are an existing business you will have an idea of your client profiles and these will be used to create personas as a reminder of who we are designing for. These personas will be continually referenced to create a level of design and interaction to match those profiles.
Sketches and/or screen layouts of design options are usually created for you to have the final say on, but I prefer creating a live visual created from our discussion to be experimented with. I pride myself on usually getting this right first time plus it reduces the cost of the labour and therefore the price to you. Once this has been agreed along with colour schemes then the production process will commence continually keeping in mind usability and accessibility.
Please keep in mind the site is not for you it is for your end user.
To the right of this page are the most recent public design projects undertaken. The majority of my work has been for intranets and solutions for existing sites so if you have an interest in either please contact me.
